On August 29–30, 2025, a two-day seminar entitled “Efficiency in the Operational Chain of Manufacturing Companies – Digitalisation, Innovation and R&D Activities” took place in Alytus, aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of FTD LT Cluster members in international markets.
The event brought together experts in business, innovation and communication from various companies and organisations, who shared insights into the role of internal communication, digitalisation and innovation in modern manufacturing companies.
SPEAKERS AND KEY TOPICS
The seminar featured presentations by:
- Dr Vaidas Liesionis, CEO of Astra LT AB;
- Giedrė Simanauskaitė, Internal Communication Consultant;
- Algimanta Ščiglinskienė, Coordinator of the FTD LT Cluster and Director of the Alytus Business Advisory Center.
Giedrė Simanauskaitė presented the most common internal communication mistakes and challenges faced by companies. She shared best practices and success stories from other organisations, emphasising that effective communication is particularly important in manufacturing companies. According to her, a well-organised internal dialogue can help prevent misunderstandings, shorten operational processes and increase overall organisational efficiency. Dr Vaidas Liesionis introduced participants to the experience of Astra LT AB and the challenges faced by manufacturing companies. He emphasised that project-based manufacturing requires exceptionally precise internal communication, as every order is unique and errors or a lack of information can lead to significant losses.

The speakers discussed practical solutions in detail and highlighted the importance of innovation and digitalisation in an increasingly competitive international environment. Algimanta Ščiglinskienė presented how FTD LT Cluster companies communicate in international markets today. She emphasised the importance of cooperation, innovation and international partnership networks in ensuring the success of Cluster members.
DISCUSSIONS AND PRACTICAL EXERCISES
Throughout the event, participants actively engaged in discussions, asked questions to the speakers and took part in interactive exercises designed to address challenges encountered in international markets. These practical sessions enabled company representatives to exchange experiences and jointly seek solutions to complex and uncertain situations. The seminar provided participants with an opportunity not only to gain expert knowledge but also to apply new ideas in practice within their organisations. Participants left with concrete insights on improving internal communication, integrating digitalisation tools and building a competitive advantage in international markets.
