Renewable energy sources and waste – conversion to energy and valuable products (TWIN-PEAKS example)

On 23rd of November FTD LT cluster has participated in this meeting–seminar

Meeting place: Breslaujos st. 3., Kaunas, administrative building of the Lithuanian Energy Institute, I floor, Conference Hall.

10:00-10:40 Cooperation of Lithuanian Energy Institute with business and achievements in development of R&D products (Rimantas Levinskas, Head of the Research, Experimental Development and Innovation Center).

10:40-11:05 Use of plasma technologies in the conversion of waste into valuable products (Andrius Tamošiūnas, Deputy Director, Chief Research Fellow in Plasma Technology Laboratory). The achievements of the TWIN-PEAKS project (https://www.twinpeaks-h2020.eu) will be presented, i. e. how the waste can be converted into energy / valuable products: synthesis gas, hydrogen, methane, methanol.

11:05-11:30 Research at LEI Hydrogen Energy Technology Center (Darius Milčius, Head of Hydrogen Energy Technology Center).

11:30-12:00. Questions. Discussion. 

12:00-13:00 Visits: to the Hydrogen Energy Technology Center, Combustion Processes, Thermal Equipment Research and Testing, and Plasma Technology Laboratories. Demonstration of the operation of a plasma generator for the utilization of waste in the production of synthetic gas.
